William Lyons Wilson (1892-1981), worked for the Cunard Shipping Line, supplying paintings for their new liners, and, in 1938, moved to Devon to teach at Blundell's School in Tiverton. He exhibited widely including at The Royal Academy and with the surrealists at The Redfern Gallery in London. His works can be found in private and public collections, including those of the Imperial War Museum and Exeter Museum.
